Colour Bloom
A double-height family home where every room gets its own palette, held together by calm floors and a no-wood rule.
The brief was a colourful home. Rather than one scheme for the whole house, every room was given its own palette: powder blue and sage in the double-height living room, plum and grey in one bedroom, teal and rust in another, a blue arch in a third.
Holding it together are calm neutral floors and a rule set early on: no wood. Furniture, cladding and finishes are metal, glass, stone, ceramic and laminate, and texture does the work wood usually does, through a geometric relief wall, fluted panels, jaali screens and a lattice gallery.
Bold colours are balanced with softer ones in each room, so the house feels lively without feeling loud.
